Windemere Park Charter Academy students find many activities outside of the traditional school day that enrich their educational experience. Students elect to participate in organizations that promote leadership skills such as the National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, Boys and Girl Scouts, and Safety Patrol.
Windemere has an exceptional variety of extra-curricular events available to students. By participating in physical education and team sports, our students develop a positive attitude toward a variety of life-long endeavors. Our stellar athletic program includes our popular Cross Country team, Soccer, Floor Hockey, Bowling, Basketball, and Cheerleading teams. The WPCA Waverunners Swim Team is one of our most successful athletic programs with several students achieving success on the state level. We offer co-curricular activities such as Art Club, Lego Engineering, Band, Choir, a Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, and a Science Fair.
There are numerous enjoyable experiences that provide extensions for learning outside of the classroom including field trips, 5th grade camp, and an 8th grade overnight trip to Chicago. Windemere students also participate in events which cultivate and promote a sense of community such as back-to-school picnics, school dances, Mother/Son Bowling, the Daddy/Daughter Dance, and the annual school-wide field day event.
